Introduction
If you are a writer then you have probably given some thought to having your work published. Writing and editing a manuscript of any genre is a huge achievement and you should feel proud of yourself. But what happens next? You’ve spent months writing the manuscript and now you want to see that manuscript as a paperback book and/or a neatly compiled ebook of various formats.
That dream can become a reality. But, be warned, it will be a long, difficult road.
There are a few ways to publish your book. There’s the traditional way. You know the one I mean. The one where you try to find an agent to act on your behalf or you might decide to approach publishing companies yourself. This option can work, but the chances are low, and incredibly frustrating. You may receive reams of rejections, but perserverence and a thick-skin may get you through the door. If you have patience.
The other option is to become an indepentant author, more commonly known as an indie author. Basically, this means that you take matters into your own hands and publish your own work. Sounds simple, but it’s not. As a writer you may not necessarily have the know-how to become a publisher. This page is here to help you on your self-publishing journey.
Topics such as preparing your manuscript for publication, how or where to find quality covers, tips on how to compile the documents, what to include and what not to include, where to publish your book and how to market the publication will be discussed, so make sure you bookmark this page.
